The City of Wheaton wishes to remind residents that in the event of a Snow Alert/Emergency, it will be unlawful to leave any vehicle, trailer, camper or any other device parked on any city street or alley.
Snow Alerts will be announced on Morris radio stations KKOK and KMRS, posted on City Public Access Channel 8, and on our Facebook page.
The announcement will advise residents of Snow Alert times. Parking on the street will be prohibited during these times.
Vehicles found in violation will be towed and impounded at the owner's expense.
Vehicles will not be released until all towing and impound fees are paid.
In the event of a snowfall that requires plowing, please tune to the radio; the City will enforce these regulations without exception.
Starting the week of April 21st, 2025, Public works will be trimming any overhanging trees. Please have your trees trimmed or Public Works will be doing it. You will be assessed $100 if the City has to trim your trees.
Right of Way.
All trees in the City of Wheaton standing in the City right of ways or the branches of which overhang into the streets shall be trimmed so that no branches, or part thereof, shall hang in the right of way nearer than eight feet above the ground or 14 feet above the improved street or alley.
