Utility Forms: Water – Sewer – Garbage
I want to connect my property to Wheaton’s water and sewer system. Please use the form below; it must be completed and submitted to Wheaton City Hall for consideration by the Wheaton City Council. If you are building a new home, you must also submit a Land Use Permit (see link below).
I want to have water service “turned on” at my property. Please find the utility app in the download section. If you are renting the property, the property owner must also sign this application (both you and your landlord will receive a monthly billing statement). Before water service is “turned on”, a $100 deposit is required for customers without a positive payment history, and for all renters. A $50 reconnect fee must also be paid.
I have purchased a home in Wheaton, and need to change the utility account to my name. Please use the form below (NEW WATER SEWER GARBAGE UTILITY APP) If you recently purchased the property, you must have the sale recorded at the Traverse County Records Office. If you are renting the property, the property owner must also sign this application (both you and your landlord will receive a monthly billing statement). I use water in my garden/lawn and do not wish to pay sewer charges for these special purposes. You may purchase, at your own cost, a water meter from the City for outdoor use. The form below (Application for Second Water Meter) must be completed and submitted to Wheaton City Hall for consideration. Land Use Permit
THE NEW LAND USE PERMIT APPLICATION IS NOW AVAILABLE. You DO NOT need a Land Use Permit if you are replacing shingles, windows, or siding. If you intend to change (expand or decrease) the footprint of your home, porch, deck, patio, driveway, sidewalk or accessory buildings (by installing, removing, or remodeling), you have to have a Land Use Permit granted by the Wheaton City Council.
IF YOUR PROPERTY IS PART OF THE PRAIRIE TRAILS PLAT, there are some additional Protective Covenants that must be observed.
Falk Lodge Reservations
Please read the rental policy and deposit directions on the Falk Lodge Reservation Form carefully, and check the Reservation Calendar for facility availability. The lodge may be rented up to one year (to the date) in advance.

Winter Vehicle/Trailer Parking Restrictions
Once a snow emergency/alert is declared (will be announced on KMRS Radio), motor vehicles (including trailers) must be removed from city streets, avenues, and alleyways within 24 hours so that the Public Works Department can plow our roadways from curb-to-curb. If your vehicle is parked or left on a city roadway or alley, your vehicle will be towed. You will then have to pay the towing charge and administrative fine before your vehicle will be released to you.

ASSISTANT POOL MANAGER
City of Wheaton is advertising for the position of ASSISTANT POOL MANAGER. Duties include the supervision and administration of the Wheaton Pool, including swimming lessons and overall care and management of the pool when the pool manager is not on duty. Certified Pool Operators License and Water Safety License preferred, but not required. Successful candidate will have to obtain the Certified Pool Operators license prior to the opening of the pool. LIFEGAURD
The City of Wheaton is hiring lifeguards for the 2025 season. Pay rate beginning at $12.00 per hour, with increases depending on age, experience and qualifications. Applications can be requested from Wheaton City Hall (320/563-4110) and downloaded below Return all applications to City Hall. Deadline is 4:00 pm on 04/30/2025 or until positions are filled. EOE.
Starting the week of April 21st, 2025, Public works will be trimming any overhanging trees. Please have your trees trimmed or Public Works will be doing it. You will be assessed $100 if the City has to trim your trees.
Right of Way.
All trees in the City of Wheaton standing in the City right of ways or the branches of which overhang into the streets shall be trimmed so that no branches, or part thereof, shall hang in the right of way nearer than eight feet above the ground or 14 feet above the improved street or alley.
