Alexandria Plastics announces a partnership with Alexandria Industries
Now a single source supplier with expanded products and services
Wheaton, MN; March 7, 2012—Alexandria Plastics, formerly known as Wheaton Plastics, is now a division of Alexandria Industries. This strategic agreement marks the ability of the Wheaton facility to offer their customers a greatly expanded scope of products and services.
“Even though Alexandria Plastics has worked closely with Alexandria Industries for the past few years, this particular agreement will strategically set us apart from the competition by servicing and supporting much more than the plastic injection and foam molding needs of our customer base,” said Joe Schabel, President of Alexandria Plastics. “By operating as a division of Alexandria Industries, our customers will have instant access to the capabilities, capacities and value added resources from the additional Alexandria Industries divisions. The end result for our customers will be a simplified process delivering a strategic solution to their entire supply chain needs.”
Operating as a division of Alexandria Industries, Alexandria Plastics who has been providing plastic injection and foam molded components and assemblies since 1996, will serve as a hub for its customers’ supply chain requirements offering these additional products.
• Customized aluminum extrusions (Alexandria Extrusion)
• Heat transfer products (Alexandria Extrusion South)
• Ferrous and non-ferrous precision machining (Alexandria Precision Machining)
• Expanded chemical finishing services (Alexandria Finishing), and
• Higher level assemblies, available at multiple facilities.
The change is also significant to the local economy and manufacturing in general as they plan to expand the workforce and add strategic manufacturing capabilities and capacities. Steve Schabel, Director of Sales and Marketing Integration for Alexandria Industries says, “As our customers continue to rebound from the economic challenges of the past, we continue to gain momentum and expect further growth as a result of strategic initiatives, niche markets and being a leader in customer service. The company is dedicated to growing the business significantly and Alexandria Plastics is an important part of that plan,” says Schabel. Alexandria Industries employs nearly 500 people across their five divisions.
A new website www.alexandriaindustries.com demonstrates the entire portfolio of customized engineered products and services. The companies of Alexandria Industries have further simplified supply chain management by instructing customers to list Alexandria Industries as the sole supplier. Customers make one call, eliminating the need to manage multiple suppliers for different products.
